Sinking into Poverty

The following story appeared sometime this month regarding a coffee disease ravaging different districts in Uganda. The article says that before 2002 Mukono district had 54,000 hectares of coffee and at the time of this article, half of that had died due to the coffee wilt disease. Remember that Uganda is an agricultural country that depends on coffee for jobs and incomes. Since at time, the population in these districts has increased and yet coffee production which has remained the economic activity is reducing. Can anybody suggest some solutions? What surprises me is that there is no response on this matter from the Coffee Development Authority.
